In the desert near Noor's home stood a ghaf tree, the national tree of the UAE. Its roots reach deep, deep under the sand to find water that no one else can."How do you live with so little water?" Noor asked. The tree rustled: "I never waste a single drop. Do you?"Noor thought about the tap she left running while brushing her teeth. Most water in the UAE comes from the sea, and turning sea water into drinking water uses a lot of energy. From that day Noor turned off the tap, took shorter showers, and gave the plants the water left in her bottle. The ghaf tree smiled in the wind.
